Which Social Media Networks and Websites Do Nurses Report That They Currently Use?

More than 68% of nurses use Facebook, while about 11% use Twitter, according to a survey by Springer Publishing Company.

According to the survey, 14.4% of respondents use Nurse.com, and 12.2% use Allnurses.com.

The survey also found that 27% of respondents have downloaded no-cost nursing or medical applications and that 22.7% have downloaded no-cost and paid apps. Meanwhile, more than 46% have not downloaded or installed any nursing or medical apps.

In addition, the survey found that more than 68% of respondents have not purchased any nursing or medical e-books, while about 31% have done so.

Results are based on a survey conducted in September 2011 of 1,107 nurses. Nearly 41% of respondents hold a master of science in nursing degree, while about 39% have a doctorate in nursing.
