CMS has added data about Medicare-certified home health care agencies to its consumer-focused Quality Care Finder website, Health Data Management reports.
The Quality Care Finder website already includes information on hospitals, nursing homes, dialysis facilities, physicians and Medicare plans (Goedert, Health Data Management, 4/20).
Data From Consumer Survey
The new data comes from the Home Health Care Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems Survey, which includes information about patients' experiences with home health care agencies.
Acting CMS Administrator Marilyn Tavenner said, "The survey is the first national assessment tool for collecting information on patient experience and will enable valid comparisons among all home health agencies."
Information Added to Website
Consumers now can use the Quality Care Finder website to look up information about how home health care providers:
- Behave toward patients;
- Communicate with patients; and
- Address issues such as home safety, medication and pain management (Selvam, Modern Healthcare, 4/19).
