Members with Android smartphones can use a no-cost mobile application to access their electronic health records from Kaiser's system. Members with other types of smartphones can access their health data through a mobile-optimized version of Kaiser Permanente's website (Dolan, MobiHealthNews, 1/24).
The Android app and mobile-optimized website allow users to:
- Access diagnostic information;
- Email with physicians;
- Obtain lab results; and
- Order prescription refills (Walsh, CMIO, 1/24).
Kaiser plans to release an iPhone version of its smartphone app in the coming months (Goedert, Health Data Management, 1/24).
