Six more states have opened registration for Medicaid incentive payments under the meaningful use program, Modern Healthcare reports.
Thirty-nine states have opened programs for Medicaid meaningful use payments, and 23 states have started making payments, according to CMS.
Under the 2009 economic stimulus package, health care providers who demonstrate meaningful use of certified electronic health record systems can qualify for Medicaid and Medicare incentive payments.
The six states that recently launched their programs are:
- Arkansas;
- Delaware;
- Montana;
- New Jersey;
- New York; and
- North Dakota (Conn, Modern Healthcare, 11/14).
