Jordan publicly has rolled out its new health IT system, which will include VistA open-source clinical and health information management systems and an electronic health record system, E-Health Europe reports.
A demonstration of the system will be deployed over the next year at Prince Hamzah Hospital in Amman, and a larger pilot project will run for 18 months, after which the system will be deployed at the rest of the country's 43 hospitals.
The Jordanian not-for-profit organization Electronic Health Solutions is managing the project, and Perot Systems is providing technology and implementation services (Bruce, E-Health Europe, 11/3).
