Massachusetts Web Site Supports Consumer-Driven Health Care

The not-for-profit Partnership for Healthcare Excellence has launched a Web site to provide Massachusetts consumers with more information on health care, the Boston Business Journal reports.

The Web site is intended to promote consumer-driven health care to manage costs more efficiently. The site provides consumers with tips on how to take medications safely and prepare for surgery, and offers links to other sites for information on hospital choices or dealing with multiple medications. The site also includes links to federal, state and not-for-profit Web sites with information on hospital care and quality rankings, the Business Journal reports.

The Partnership's members include other not-for-profits, major health insurers, business, medical industry and consumer groups in Massachusetts (Boston Business Journal, 10/25).
