Lockheed Martin has received a five-year, $135 million contract to continue to provide IT support to CDC's Coordinating Office for Terrorism Preparedness and Emergency Response, Government Computer News reports.
The office oversees the CDC Public Health Emergency Preparedness Cooperative Agreement, which offers guidance and funding to local and state governments for preparedness and response. It also manages the CDC Emergency Operations Center, regulates groups that use or transfer biological agents or toxins, and oversees the Strategic National Stockpile, Government Computer News reports.
In addition, Lockheed Martin will provide business consulting, as well as perform technical, professional, logistical, engineering and administrative work to improve business processes (Mosquera, Government Computer News, 1/22).
