Advisory panels to the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT have announced a series of meetings in Washington, D.C., this month, Health Data Management reports.
The Health IT Policy Committee will hold a public meeting on July 16 to discuss the definition of "meaningful use" of electronic health records (Goedert, Health Data Management, 7/1).
Health care providers will be required to demonstrate meaningful use of EHRs to qualify for Medicare and Medicaid incentive payments provided under the federal economic stimulus package (iHealthBeat, 6/30).
The Health IT Policy Committee's work group for certification and adoption will meet on July 14 and 15.
In addition, the Health IT Standards Committee is scheduled to meet July 21 (Health Data Management, 7/1).
