The Healthcare IT Standards Panel, a federally funded health IT standards group, is requesting public comment on three interoperability specification documents and a use case for medication management, Government Health IT reports.
The four documents will form the basis of the panel's next set of recommendations to the American Health Information Community, an advisory group led by HHS Secretary Mike Leavitt (Ferris, Government Health IT, 9/20).
The documents involve:
- Consumer access to health information through networks;
- Consumer access through portable media;
- Interoperability specifications for data transmission on health quality; and
- Requirements and standards to meet an AHIC use case for medication management (Conn, Health IT Strategist, 9/20).
Public comments will be accepted online via HITSP's automated tracking system through Oct. 16 (
Government Health IT, 9/20).
