Intuit and CIGNA HealthCare on Tuesday partnered to offer an online health tool to the insurance company's more than nine million members to manage and direct their medical expenses, payments and service histories and to help them download and organize their personal health data, the Silicon Valley/San Jose Business Journal reports.
The tool, called Quicken Health, in 2008 will be available at no cost to CIGNA's members and is expected to increase member satisfaction. The program also is expected to help members increase their choices in hospitals, outpatient facilities, specialists and prescription drugs because of more cost and quality information.
CIGNA in 2002 launched a personalized Web site to help its members understand their health benefits. The Web site currently logs an average of 60,000 visits each business day, the Business Journal reports (Silicon Valley/San Jose Business Journal, 4/25).
