Report: Mobile Health Vendors Should Merge

David Brooks, president of bcc: Consulting, in a report says mobile vendors MercuryMD and PatientKeeper should merge and become a public company, but he acknowledges that he does not think the merger actually will happen, Health Data Management reports.

"While both companies have grown up viewing the other as their main competitor, they must embrace the fact that they share a common cause that is far more important to both companies' future - they must work to tip the market before the majors lock them out," the report states.

Large vendors eventually will begin to take business from MercuryMD and PatientKeeper, according to the report. "If they don't work together, they really risk becoming marginalized when the larger vendors get serious," Brooks said (Health Data Management, 3/13).
